Adhesive Industry

industry

Colophon Resins and Resin derivatives are important components that are widely used in the production of industrial adhesives. Resins act as the main component of the adhesive and provide its adhesion properties.
There are different types of resins used in the production of industrial adhesives. Each type of resin has different properties and is selected according to the application in which it is used.Industrial adhesives are used in many sectors such as Furniture -Wood, Lamination, Paper-label and Packaging, Sponge, Mattress and Upholstery, footwear, automotive, floor covering, Healthcare sector(yarabandi production), electronics, printing, food.

Resins are important factors that determine the adhesion properties of the adhesive. The chemical structure and curing properties of resins affect the properties of the adhesive such as strength, flexibility, temperature resistance. Therefore, the correct choice of resin is important to achieve the desired adhesion performance.
Various additives can be used to improve the adhesive performance of resins. These additives can have functions such as adjusting the viscosity of resins, extending the adhesion time, increasing the elasticity of the adhesive.
THE USE OF RESIN IN THE PRODUCTION OF SOLVENT-BASED ADHESIVES:
in the production of solvent-based adhesives, Colophon resin(Gum rosin), Modified Resins, Penta Ester Resins and Glycerol Ester Resins are widely used components in various industries. Solvent-based adhesives provide adhesion by dissolving resins such as colophon resin with solvents and then applying them to the application surface.
Colophon resins (Gum Rosin), Modified Resins, Penta Ester Resins and Glycerol Ester Resins directly affect the adhesive strength, viscosity, curing time and other performance characteristics of solvent-based adhesives. Penta Ester Resins are used as hardeners and curing agents in solvent-based adhesives, as well as to control the viscosity and regulate the fluidity of the adhesive. Glycerol Ester Resins, on the other hand, are used to increase adhesion and adjust viscosity in solvent-based adhesives to ensure better adhesion of the adhesive to surfaces and to regulate the fluidity of the adhesive. Glycerol Ester Resins also improve the mechanical properties of the adhesive by increasing elasticity and flexibility.

THE USE OF RESIN IN THE PRODUCTION OF WATER-BASED ADHESIVES:
The use of Rosin Ester Dispersion Resins in the production of water-based adhesives is important and widespread. (Rosin Ester Dispersion Resins are a kind of polymer dispersion obtained by modification of Colophon Resin). it provides a number of advantages to water-based adhesives such as adhesiveness, viscosity control, emulsion stability and mechanical properties. These resins are used to improve the stabilization of polymer particles dispersed in water and the performance of the adhesive.
Rosin Ester Dispersion Resins are obtained by esterification of colophon resin and using an emulsion process. In this process, the colophon resin is esterified by reacting with a suitable alcohol. Then, the emulsion stage is started and the esterified colophon resin is dispersed in water. A homogeneous structure is provided by adding stabilizing agents and other auxiliary components.
Rosin Ester Dispersion Resins are an important component in the formulation of water-based adhesives and are used to control the viscosity of the adhesive, increase stickiness and ensure better adhesion to surfaces. Rosin Ester Dispersion Resins increase the mechanical durability, temperature resistance and water resistance of water-based adhesives.

THE USE OF RESIN IN THE PRODUCTION OF HOT MELT ADHESIVE:
Hot Melt Adhesives are very widely used in industrial applications. In the production of hot melt adhesive, Colophon Resin(Gum Rosin), Penta Ester and Glycerol Ester Resins(Resin Esters) are the important components used.
In the production of Hot Melt adhesives, colophon resin and Resin Esters are used for many different purposes. Colophon resin (Gum rosin) is used to increase the viscosity and adhesive properties of the adhesive. At the same time, it provides better adhesion and flexibility to the adhesive. Colophon resin provides high adhesion strength to the adhesive and increases its thermal stability. Thanks to the resin and resin esters used, there is a production of adhesives with high bonding strength, open tack time and various product viscosities. Penta Ester Resins are used in Hot Melt adhesives to harden the resin and increase its thermal resistance, and Penta Ester Resins provide the adhesive with better mechanical properties and thermal stability. It can also be used to control the viscosity and stickiness of the adhesive. Glycerol Ester Resins, on the other hand, are used to improve the adhesion properties of Hot Melt adhesive, adjust the viscosity of the adhesive and improve its performance.
Resin esters are also used to improve the rheological properties, spreading property and adhesion performance of the adhesive, mechanical properties such as elasticity, hardness and adhesiveness.
Glycerol Ester Resins used in the production of Hot Melt adhesives increase the thermal stability of the adhesive and therefore improve the oxidation resistance and aging properties of the adhesive. Thus, it allows the adhesive to become durable for a longer time.

THE USE OF RESIN IN THE PRODUCTION OF PSA ADHESIVE:
PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) adhesives are known as pressure sensitive adhesives and are often used in applications such as self-adhesive labels, tapes and adhesive films. Resins are an important component in the formulation of PSA adhesives. These resins directly affect the adhesion properties and performance of the adhesive.
Resins used in PSA adhesives are usually polymers with elastomeric properties. These polymers provide the viscosity, flexibility and adhesive strength of the adhesive. At the same time, it provides enough stickiness to easily stick the adhesive to the surface.

The use of Colophon resins and resin esters in sponge adhesives increases the adhesion properties of sponges and improves their durability. In addition, it also has an effect on the mechanical properties of resins, such as elasticity, hardness and adhesiveness.
One of the types of industrial adhesives are adhesives used in the shoe industry.colophon Resin and resin esters are also of great importance in the production of shoe adhesive.
In the shoe and leather industry, adhesives are used for gluing shoe soles, joining leather parts and assembling accessories. Adhesives with properties such as flexibility, water resistance and durability are preferred.
Resins directly affect the adhesive's adhesion strength, elasticity, elasticity, drying time, water resistance and other properties of the adhesive.
