Resins can have characteristic odors due to the aromatic compounds they contain. The resulting aromatic compounds are used as the main components of fragrances and essences.
Some resins are also used as a stabilizer or base note (volatility) in fragrance formulations. Stabilizers help to increase the stability and durability of the fragrance, while base notes provide the depth and richness of the fragrance composition.
